In the enchanting land of Malaysia, where history and nature intertwine, RAKSASA emerges as a legendary spirit. Conceived by the imaginative minds at Cave & Cellar, RAKSASA is crafted in a century-old distillery using traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients. Cave & Cellar, the masterminds behind this project, have created a rice wine-based spirits that blends smooth rice wine with vibrant botanicals, producing a carnival of flavors in every sip. This spirit isn’t just a drink; it’s a charismatic giant, the life of every party, and the storyteller that transforms gatherings into unforgettable adventures.

In Southeast Asian mythology, the RAKSASA is a formidable creature, revered and feared for its strength and mystical powers. Symbolising might, protection, and resilience, the RAKSASA embodies the spirit of our drinks—bold, potent, and steeped in tradition.

Nian: The Symbol of Renewal
The Nian, a creature from Chinese legend, emerges every Lunar New Year. This fearsome beast represents renewal and the cyclical nature of life, warding off evil spirits and heralding new beginnings. The Nian symbolises the innovative spirit of our brand and our commitment to blending ancient traditions with contemporary craftsmanship.

A HERITAGE OF TRADITION & AUTHENTICITY

The origins of RAKSASA traces back to the humble town of Mantin in the early 1900s. Arriving from the distant land of China, Ong Eng Suan of the Tai Yuan Clan brought with him the secrets of his village: the ancient art of wine-making.

With a handful of skilled craftsmen, a modest distillery was established. Soon enough, the local air was filled with the rich aroma of mijiu — better known as rice wine. After World War I, the thriving enterprise relocated to Seremban. Through the ages, the distillation techniques and alchemy of natural ingredients have remained unchanged. Each drop of Joo Lee Chan’s rice wine retains the exceptional quality that Ong envisioned.

Today, Joo Lee Chan continues to honour its founder’s legacy by crafting premium mijiu that is steeped in centuries of tradition.

Introducing Raksasa Original Gin, a 100% rice wine-based marvel! Our rice wine is sourced from a century-old local distillery, still using the same authentic distillation process established by its founder back in 1906, with all-natural ingredients.

Experience the enchanting Asiatic flavours of rice wine, perfectly blended with the western essence of gin, creating a unique elixir like no other. This gin is the epitome of East meets West, with a smoothness that disguises the powerful structure beneath.

For the ultimate sophisticated sip, we recommend enjoying it straight and chilled—no tonic needed. But if tonic is your preference, mix it in a one-to-one ratio and garnish with a twist of orange peel.

Meet Raksasa Nutmeg Gin, sharing the same sophisticated essence as our original gin but with a delightful hint of nutmeg.

Why nutmeg, you ask? Because nutmeg is indigenous to Southeast Asia, and we aim to infuse our gin with the rich flavours of Malaysia. Sourced from the best nutmeg producing region, the Pearl of the Orient—Penang, this nutmeg adds a distinctive nutty, woody sweetness to our gin.

Just like our original, this gin boasts incredible smoothness, but with an extra kick for those who love a bit more bite in their drink. Enjoy it straight or mix it into a simple yet exquisite gin and tonic—you can’t go wrong either way!

You say citrus, we say sitrus—let’s call the whole thing off! Raksasa Sitrus Gin is a spirited celebration of Malaysia’s own local citrus gem, the calamansi.

Raksasa Ginger Wine draws inspiration from the rich history of ginger wine in Asia, blending tradition with modern craftsmanship.

Based on our signature rice wine, this vibrant creation features ginger sourced from the renowned organic farms of Bentong, a region celebrated for its exceptional quality ginger. The ginger imparts a bold spiciness to the wine, delivering a warm, invigorating character.

Perfect for sipping over ice or as a versatile base for creative cocktails, Raksasa Ginger Wine is a spirited celebration of heritage and innovation.

Raksasa Original Gin infused genmaicha tea 30ml
Lemon juice 1 wedge
Apple soda 90ml

Infused: 1: 50 ratio of Genmaicha Tea
(prefer Montea Genmai SenCha Oteabag) to gin in airtight lids glass jar and place in dry and room temperature 1 day.

Chill glass: stir with ice or chill glass in freezer.

Fill glass with cubed ice, apply the ingredients into glass: lemon juice, genmaicha-inflused gin.

Apply apple soda on top.

Serve garnished with sliced lemon.

Lime juice 15m
Spiced syrup 10ml
Soda 30ml

Chill glass: stir with ice or chill glass in freezer.

Apply the ingredients into the shaker, shake with ice: lime juice, spiced syrup, Raksasa Nutmeg Gin.

Strain the drinks into the glass, apply soda on top.

Garnish: serve garnished with sliced nutmeg.

Raksasa Hibiscus Gin infused dried chrysanthemum and dried longan 30m|
Soda 90ml
Cucumber long-sliced 1pc

Infused: 150g Raksasa Hibiscus Gin infuse 2g dried
chrysanthemum and 10g dried longan in airtight lids
glass jar and place in dry and room temperature 1
day.

Chill glass: stir with ice or chill glass in freezer.

Place long-sliced cucumber inside along the glass.

Fill glass with ice, build the drinks: Raksasa Hibiscus Gin infusion and top up soda.

Stir well before drink.

RAKSASA Citrus Gin

Raksasa Citrus Gin 45ml
Earl grey tea 60ml
Asam boi 1pc
Calamansi juice 10ml
Syrup 10ml
Soda 30ml

Infused: 1: 50 ratio of Earl Grey Tea (prefer Twinings earl grey teabag) to hot boiled water, steeped about 3 minutes.

Build the drinks into shaker, shake drinks with ice: asam boi, syrup, calamansi juice, ear grey tea, Raksasa Citrus Gin

Fill glass with cubed ice, strain the drinks into the glass.

Apple soda on top.

Garnish: serve garnished with mint leaf.

Raksasa Gula Melaka Rum 45ml
Manggo juice 60ml
Syrup 10ml
Lime juice 15ml
Coconut cream 30ml

Chill glass: stir with ice or chill glass in freezer.

Build the drinks into shaker, shake drinks with ice: syrup, manggo juice, coconut cream, lime juice, Raksasa Gula Melaka Rum.

Strain the drinks into the glass.

Garnish: serve garnished with coconut flakes.

Raksasa Miju 60ml
Jackfruit puree 10ml
Jackfruit juice 40ml
Lemon juice 2wedges
Soda 10ml

Chill glass: stir with ice or chill glass in freezer.

Build the drinks into shaker, shake with ice: lemon juice, jackfruit puree, jackfruit juice and Raksasa Miju.

Fill glass with cubed ice, strain the drink into glass.

Apply soda on top.

Stir and garnish: Stir and serve garnished with 1 rosemary wedge.

Raksasa Ginger Wine 60ml
Lime juice 1/2pcs
Mint leaves some
Honey syrup 10ml
Soda 45ml

Chill glass: stir with ice or chill glass in freezer.

Build the drinks into shaker, muddle and shake with ice: lime juice, mint leave, honey syrup, Raksasa Ginger Wine.

Fill glass with crushed ice, strained mixture into glass.

Apply soda on top.

Stir and garnish: Stir and serve garnished with 1 lime wedge.
